A Big Night Out

A “BIG NIGHT OUT” is an event hosted by Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood for our friends with disabilities as ‘Honored Guests” where they will experience a fun evening with their parents, caregivers, and friends. The Connection Ministries’ team also plans to attend so we can enjoy the evening with our friends.

This year the event will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023! More details to come!

Here are some details about the event for Honored Guests.

  • ALL GUESTS: Honored Guests, Caregivers, Parents that register for the Big Night Out will stay together in the main party venue for the duration of the event.
  • AGE: Guests must be 12 years or older to attend.
  • NUMBER OF GUESTS PER REGISTRATION: Each Honored Guest registration can include a maximum of 2 caregivers or parents.
  • There will NOT be Buddies assigned for every registered Guest.
  • There WILL be volunteer team members available to help ALL GUESTS navigate the event.
  • Caregivers/Parents/Family members that bring a Guest are expected to STAY WITH their Guest for the duration of the event.
  • ALL Honored Guests will receive a FREE Big Night Out Commemorative T-Shirt.
  • WHAT TO WEAR: Prom attire is welcome but not expected or required.
  • FOOD: They will serve chick-fil-a along with a variety of snacks available throughout the evening.

For volunteers, here are some additional details. The Connection Ministries team has been involved in many of these proms over the years and you will have the time of your life by volunteering.

  • You will need to complete a separate “VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION” per person 16 or older.
  • Volunteers must be 16 years old *with the exception of the paparazzi team.
  • ALL volunteers will be provided a Big Night Out T-shirt that will need to be worn at the event!
  • You will have access to snacks and water throughout the event.

Volunteer commitment includes:

  • Background Check (for volunteers 18 or older)
  • View Training Video
  • Event Date: Friday, March 10, 2023
  • Time commitment: 5:15pm – 9:30pm

Mt Pleasant will communicate FULL details via email.

As a standard health practice, please do not attend if you are sick or are concerned about exposure of any kind.

Connection Ministries has looked for Night to Shine Proms, but there aren’t any planned for the central Indiana area. If we learn of any other proms or special events, we will be sure to let you know.
